Capabilities

Every problem is different. The way we get to the bottom of it isn’t.

We’ve spent a decade as a practice, drawing on careers that reach back as far as forty years, building a deep set of capabilities: ways of seeing, measuring, structuring and unlocking value in finance and investment. We don’t sell them off a shelf. We assemble the right ones around your specific problem, in your specific context, and put senior hands on every one of them.

Where the work sits

One continuum, from a founder to a finance ministry.

The contexts aren’t separate sectors. They’re one continuum: capital meeting a need for capital, from a single business’s first raise to a sovereign bond market, with two sides and the rails between. We work for both sides: those raising capital and those deploying it.

Five contexts
Access to finance

Helping a business secure the capital it needs to grow and realise its value.

Private capital

The funds, credit, equity and transactions that move capital privately.

Capital markets

Public and institutional capital: debt and equity issuance, listed instruments, sovereign and sub-sovereign.

Market infrastructure

The rails beneath all of it: the regulation, technology and post-trade systems that let capital move at every point.

Sustainable finance

The condition increasingly attached to capital across the whole continuum; where the market is heading.

What we bring

The right combination.

A problem rarely needs one skill. It needs the right combination, drawn in the order the work actually flows.

01

Gather

Surface where value sits and what moves it. Before anything can be measured or structured, the raw picture has to be built: who holds the information, what the data says, what has been tried before. We go and get it, first-hand.

Capabilities include:
Interviewing
Surveys & questionnaires
Desk research
02

Validate

Make sure that picture of value is real. Findings are tested against the people who know the market, corroborated across independent sources, and challenged in the room. What survives is evidence, not opinion.

Capabilities include:
Workshop facilitation
Stakeholder validation
Verification & triangulation
Counterparty & background checks
03

Model & frame

Build the means to measure value and the barriers to it. Complex problems need bespoke instruments: frameworks, models and scenarios that make the drivers of value visible, comparable and testable before anyone commits capital to them.

Capabilities include:
Framework development
Financial modelling
Forecasting & projection
Scenario & sensitivity analysis
04

Analyse & value

Find, assess and price the value. This is the deepest part of the toolkit: the analysis that says what something is worth, what threatens it, and how it compares. From a pre-revenue company to a listed instrument to an entire market.

Capabilities include:
Profitability analysis
Liquidity analysis
Credit & solvency analysis
Growth & momentum analysis
Investment risk analysis
Trend analysis
Benchmarking
Market & landscape analysis
Regulatory & legal analysis
AI-assisted analysis
Pre-revenue / early-stage valuation
Going-concern valuation
Listed / market valuation
Asset & intangible valuation
05

Design the solution

Work out how to unlock the value. Analysis on its own changes nothing. We design the mechanism, the strategy, the governance and the path that turn what we found into something a client can act on.

Capabilities include:
Solution & mechanism design
Investor alignment
Capital-raising strategy
Governance design
Recommendation & roadmap design
06

Structure it

Build the architecture that lets value flow or transfer. Instruments, funds, transactions, issuance, even the legislation beneath them. Structure is where a solution stops being an idea and becomes enforceable.

Capabilities include:
Instrument structuring
Fund structuring
Transaction & deal structuring
Issuance structuring
Legislative & regulatory drafting
07

Communicate & enable

Make the value legible, and keep it being realised. Decisions get made on what boards can understand, so we write and present for the decision. Then we transfer the skills and tools that let clients keep unlocking value after we leave.

Capabilities include:
Synthesis & report writing
Executive & board-grade communication
Training & capacity building
Knowledge-product & toolkit creation
Tool & model building
How it comes together
Every capability is carried by people who have done the work at a senior level for decades, a network of practitioners we actually call on rather than a roster of names.

That’s what turns a list of skills into judgement: knowing which component a problem actually needs, how to bend it to an unfamiliar context, and what the real problem is in the first place. Point that judgement at your problem and it produces a solution, assembled from exactly the components it needs, and nothing it doesn’t; point it at ourselves and it produces tools.

Focused entirely on your value.

Where it shows up.

Every engagement is one of these assemblies: the same components, combined for a different problem.
